Today, during Microsoft's Developer Direct livestream, the house of Xbox revealed the PvP mode of Minecraft Legends and announced the release date.
First of all, we learn that the game is coming for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on April 18, 2023. Of course, it'll also be included on Game Pass.
Speaking of the PvP mode, the game supports cross-platform play and online matchmaking, and you can't win on your own, as resources are shared with your teammates.
Maps are procedurally generated and the Piglings are actually a third AI-focused faction that fights against all players. So, it's basically 4 players versus 4 players versus the Piglins, providing all the chaos you can take. You can check out what I mean in the trailer below.
The PvP mode is very open-ended and you play several roles, including exploring, building fortifications, and much more, depending on what you prefer and what you think will lead your team to victory. The ultimate goal is to destroy the enemy base, so it goes without saying that you also have to focus on defending your own base. You can build siege equipment and also equipment to counter it, and there is an enormous variety of tactics you can employ to win.
A Deluxe Edition is available for $49.99) at launch on top of the standard edition (priced at $39.99), including the game and the Deluxe Skin Pack. Said package includes one hero skin, four mount skins, and an additional mount skin coming after launch. You can get it separately for $14.99.
Unlike its big brother Minecraft, Minecraft Legends isn't a sandbox game. Yet, it brings back the world, the characters, and the aesthetic for a charming action real-time-strategy game.
