A new Minecraft Dungeons Season Pass has been announced by Mojang along with the release date for the Howling Peaks DLC — both of these new items will be arriving in December 2020 alongside a free update.
Minecraft Dungeons has already launched two pieces of DLC content for the game. Then, the Howling Peaks DLC was revealed as the first of four more pieces of add-on content for the action RPG game. Now, Mojang has announced that all four pieces of the new DLC will be available as part of a Season Pass.
Not everyone might be sold on this DLC, and that's okay — they're still going to be getting some free content in a forthcoming update. This update will give players six free enchantments to power up their gameplay whether they pick up the DLC or not.
When is the Minecraft Dungeons Season Pass Release Date?
The Minecraft Dungeons Season Pass release date will be December 9, 2020 — that's the same day as the Howling Peaks DLC release date. The announcement of this season pass shouldn't be that big of a surprise considering that we knew four new pieces of DLC were on the way.
One should keep in mind that we don't yet have an idea of what the other three pieces of DLC will be. The Howling Peaks DLC is adding a new region, new passive mobs and enemies, and some cool new challenges for players to overcome; presumably, we should expect something similar from the other three DLC packages.
Unfortunately, the price of the Minecraft Dungeons Season Pass has not yet been revealed. The blog post announcing the Season Pass advises players to keep an eye on the official Minecraft Dungeons Twitter for more details along with some neat behind-the-scenes peeks at upcoming content in the coming weeks.
Also Arriving: The Minecraft 'Block Friday' Sale
In other news, the Minecraft Block Friday sale is also kicking off today. More than 100 maps and items will be sold at a discount on the Minecraft Marketplace from November 24–30, 2020. That's not the only discounts going on, though — each day, there will be two special offers at a stellar 75% discount!
