The Minecraft Dungeons Flames of the Nether DLC has been revealed as the next piece of premium content for Mojang's action RPG, and that's not all — a free update is also coming for all players.
Piglins and the Nether biome were teased on the game's official Twitter account late last week, suggesting that this might be the second of four pieces of premium content for the Minecraft Dungeons Season Pass. That has now been confirmed with today's announcement — get ready to head into the Flames of the Nether!
The Minecraft Dungeons Flame of the Nether DLC will take players into six new missions in the Nether. As with other DLCs, you'll be able to get new artifacts, weapons, and gear for successfully completing these challenges and defeating the new enemies you'll encounter.
That's not all that's on the way, though — the developers have cooked up what they're calling "the most ambitious free update in Minecraft Dungeons history." A key part of this new update will be "Ancient Hunts," procedurally-generated end-game missions that will send players in and out of the Nether. If you manage to complete these hunts, you'll be able to get "Gilded" gear and a new Gold currency that can be used at a Piglin merchant.
When is the Minecraft Dungeons Flames of the Nether DLC Release Date?
The Minecraft Dungeons Flames of the Nether DLC release date will be February 24, 2021. The free update for all players will also release on that same day.
No price has been announced for this new DLC, but all of the previous DLCs retail for $5.99; you can probably expect Flames of the Nether to cost the same. You can buy Minecraft Dungeons via its official website starting at $19.99 or your regional equivalent.
