Minecraft is celebrating the Year of the Tiger with some free Lunar New Year content on the Minecraft Marketplace -- but you'll only have a week to claim some cool cosmetics.
Earlier this year, Minecraft followed through on its promise to give away free content on the Minecraft Marketplace, capping off the giveaway with the adorable Axolotl Islands map. Development on the game has continued -- most recently with the new "Place Feature" command -- and now Mojang is giving away even more goodies to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
Celebrate the Lunar New Year with Free Minecraft Marketplace Content
Minecraft is kicking off the Lunar New Year with some free Minecraft Marketplace items, the first of which are cosmetics. From February 1-7, 2022, players can get a free tiger mask and free tiger sweater according to today's announcement.
The biggest addition, however, is a new adventure map called The Legend of Nezha created by Next Studio. This map tells the tale of the titular deity who seeks to defeat the Dragon King Zhou and the evil Stone Queen. You'll be able to explore a bit of Chinese mythology for the wonderful price of zero dollars (less the cost of a copy of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, of course). The Legend of Nezha will be free for the next 12 months.
Naturally, some paid items celebrating the Lunar New Year will be available on the Minecraft Marketplace as well. You can enjoy all of these freebies by buying Minecraft for PC and consoles via its official website.
