Mojang has some happy news for fans of its survival block-building game: the Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Update Part 2 release date has been locked in for late November 2021.
Minecraft broke with tradition earlier this year by splitting the Caves & Cliffs Update into two pieces. The first part launched on June 8, 2021; Now, we have the happy news that we won't have to wait too much longer to play the rest: it's going to arrive before the end of this month.
"Part II gives the mountains and caves that you know and love a makeover," read today's announcement. "Updated terrain generation, higher peaks, more elaborate cave systems – even the ore veins are larger! They are all so gorgeous so I might have to accept one of the makeovers that my team offers me on the daily. If they can make me look like a lush cave, who am I to say no?"
This update will also include several features that didn't make it in the first update such as candles. However, it will also be missing some planned features including archaeology, bundles, and goat horns. Mind, these features have not been canceled; rather, Mojang says that it had to "put them on the backburner for now," essentially stating that these features will arrive at a later date.
