After a number of delays and setbacks, Mighty No. 9 has unveiled its latest official release date.

According to the official Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter update - Comcept in conjunction with their partners, Inti Creates and Deep Silver (publisher), have been hard at working cleaning up the game and its online features. As such, they've landed on an official release date for the game for both North America and the rest of the world!

Mighty No. 9 will have a physical edition for Wii U, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and a digital release for PlayStation 3, PS Vita, Xbox 360, PC, Linux and Mac. The game releases next year, with a planned release of February 9 in North America and February 12 everywhere else.

The original release date for Mighty No. 9 was supposed to be April of 2015, but due to delays, it was pushed back to September, and would later be pushed back to 2016. The game has had a controversial history since being funding, with events like issues with their community manager and issues with a lack of updates, at least until a publisher was added.

In addition to the announcement of the new release date for the game on the Kickstarter page, Mighty No. 9's Twitter account tweeted that the previously delayed demo is now available on the Humble Store, although the Kickstarter Post on the demo actually clarifies that the demo is available only for backers who use their Kickstarter or PayPal emails on the store.

If you're a Mighty No. 9 backer, chances are you're eager to get your hands on the game to play after a long road from Kickstarter to release. If you didn't back the game, however, it is currently purchasable as a pre-order for PC at a price point of $19.99 (Steam, Humble) and for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Wii U for 29.99 on Amazon.

It's definitely been an interesting journey thus far, and I'm very interested to see how the final game turns out, as a non-backer. If you backed the game (or didn't), are you excited to get your hands on it?
