An old game has made a mysterious return to the Xbox Marketplace: Midnight Club: Los Angeles is once again available for purchase, suggesting that a new Midnight Club game might be on the way.

Midnight Club: Los Angeles is (as one might expect) set in the city of Los Angeles, California. This fourth game in the Midnight Club franchise was originally released back in 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and continued to deliver the fast cars and lightning-face racing bikes that gamers loved to see. Unfortunately, the game was delisted back in 2018 — and now it's back.

A post on ResetEra (via Eurogamer) highlighted the return of the game. Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete is once again available for purchase. Interestingly, the ResetEra thread mentions that it's apparently backwards-compatible and therefore playable on an Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. An old game like this coming back on the market is somewhat strange, especially due to the fact that Rockstar likely had to secure licenses for music and the cars — and things get only stranger from there.

Midnight Club: Los Angeles Release Suggests a New Midnight Club Game Might Be in Development

The return of Midnight Club: Los Angeles is certainly strange (and definitely welcome news to some fans of the franchise), but that's not all — this could very well be a sign that a new Midnight Club game is in development.

Earlier this month, a bunch of Rockstar Games were delisted and relisted on Steam. All sorts of strange things were happening; for example, it was completely impossible to purchase a standalone version of Grand Theft Auto 5 on Steam. Midnight Club 2 was briefly available for purchase for a short time as part of this event.

Midnight Club: Los Angeles returning on its own is weird enough, but the comeback of this game on the Xbox Marketplace less than two weeks after Midnight Club 2 was briefly available on Steam suggests that something might be going on behind the scenes.

Is a new Midnight Club game on the way? The brief return of Midnight Club 2 and the apparently rerelease of Midnight Club: Los Angeles is certainly suspicious, but that's all we can say for certain for now. In the meantime, you can buy Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete for Xbox for $14.99 or your regional equivalent. Don't delay — this could very well be a mistake that will be fixed before you get the chance to buy it!

What do you think of Midnight Club: Los Angeles being made available for purchase once again? Do you think a new Midnight Club game is in development? Let us know in the comments below!
