Get ready to see the sights in Europe - Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 6 has finally arrived, debuting some serious improvements to Austria, Germany, and Switzerland on PC and Xbox.

Microsoft Flight Simulator has been out for more than a year and has released several major "World Updates" that improve large portions of the game along with the occasional special update like the introduction of the Orbis Flyiing Eye Hospital tour. World Update 6 was supposed to launch last month but was ultimately delayed to ensure "a very high level of quality;" now, this new update has finally arrived on PC and console.

What's New in Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 6?

The big focus of Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 6 is improvements to the regions of Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. High-resolution aerial imagery and elevation maps have been used to make the natural wonder of these countries come to life.

Of course, man-made creations haven't been left out of the mix. The city of Basel in Switzerland, the cities of Graz and Vienna in Austria, and several cities in Germany are now better represented in 3D. This is supplemented by the addition of over 100 points of interest and airports in Lübeck, Stuttgart, Klagenfurt and St. Gallen.

The improvements in graphical detail for this region is certainly the star of the show, but it's far from the only addition. Several new discovery flights, landing challenges, and bush trips have also been added to the region; you can read the Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update 6 patch notes for all of the details on what's arrived in this update.
