Microsoft Flight Simulator PMDG 737

Today third-party developers had news to share about upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator add-ons, on top of a number of airport releases.

We start with PMDG, which has finally sent its Boeing 737 packages to the marketplace for release on Xbox. They expect them to release either on May 18 or May 15 if everything goes to plan. This is going to be by far the most advanced airliner available on the console version of the simulator when it launches.

There will also be livery packages priced at $4.99. Unfortunately, you likely won't be able to have the lovely Pokemon livery portrayed above as it's user-made and free on PC. If anyone tried to sell it, it'd attract all sorts of unwanted legal attention.

On top of that, we learn that the Universal Flight Tablet for the 737 is making progress and will be released with a number of features with more to be added down the line. Navigraph and Simbrief will be supported. At the moment, there is still no release date.

Progress is also being made on the 777, and PMDG CEO Robert Randazzo shared a rather teasing update.

Work is progressing on this project, and we are really really happy with how things are going. There has been some dev-time bleed off as we continue to support the work needed for continued improvements on the 737, tablet development, Xbox testing and workout- but overall things are moving along and the pieces are finally coming together in a polished form. I do not anticipate showing you in-development shots until later. The reason for this is that we are leveraging much of what we learned during 737 development between 2020 and the present, and it is yielding some absolutely spectacular results and features that we know you will love. Rather than dribble them out in partial form, we want to show them to you as they are ready so as to preserve the "moment of ah!" that comes from seeing something new and exciting that incorporates ideas and changes that come from our work and your suggestions.

We also get an announcement from PILOT'S GesmbH, which will release the Cessna Citation X+ business jet outfitted with the Garmin G5000 avionics. For now, we only get a single image of the model.

Moving on to airports,  Verticalsim revealed more screenshots of Ontario International Airport (KONT)  in California, United States, showing the terminal and the UPS warehouses.

Next, we get a few releases, starting with Brest Bretagne Airport (LFRB) in France by 3DVirtualSim. It's available on Simmarket for $16.62.

It's coming with the following features and it's worth mentioning that it's a separate version of the airport from the one in development by Pilot Experience Sim

  • High-LOD 3D models of the buildings with 4K PBR textures
  • Modelisation of interior of the main building
  • Very detailed dynamic jetways (available on gate 5 and 6 due to sdk limitations)
  • Reworked aerial images from IGN to match MSFS Bing images colorimetry
  • Realistic ground textures with precise runway modeling and custom approach lights
  • Accurate ground profile of the runway
  • Custom night lightning

EcuaVirtual3D released Seymour Airport (SEGS), also known as Seymour Galapagos Ecological Airport serving the island of Baltra in Ecuador. You can find on Simmarket for $17.54.

  • Faithful replica of the Seymour from Baltra Airport.
  • Accurate modeling, based on original references, plans and other studies.
  • Fully customized flooring, with ambient occlusion included in the textures.
  • Custom taxiway sign.
  • Static objects, vehicles and aircraft are present in the scene.
  • Avenues and streets with circulation of standard and customized vehicles.
  • HDR lighting with custom night textures.
  • Custom textures with ambient occlusion.
  • Custom Approach Lighting Systems (ALS).
  • Taxi routes included for aircraft, “taxi route”.
  • New Control Tower with rendering of the interior.
  • Very accurate mesh of fully edited terrain in the airport area.

Lastly, Davor Puljevic released Osijek Airport (LDOS) in Croatia. It's currently available on Simmarket for $10.36.
