With the end of the Holidays, Microsoft and third-party developers have more news to share about Microsoft Flight Simulator and its upcoming add-ons.

We start today's installment of our daily MSFS news with Microsoft itself, which launched a new beta patch for the simulator. Numbered 1.30.9.0, it aims to fix bugs and stability issues, alongside significant changes to the avionics and systems of the Cessna Citation CJ4, the TBM 930, and the Cessna Citation Longitude, on top of the G3000 navigation suite.

You can read the full patch notes on the official forums, keeping in mind that this is a beta, so you may want to hold off unless you want to help test it and provide feedback, as it might introduce bugs and unwanted issues. The final version of the update should launch later this month.

Next, we get a video from DC Designs, showcasing a look at the upcoming freeware F/A-18 Hornet. We see an approach and landing on a carrier, including a failed attempt. The aircraft is still in development and some areas aren't final, but the video provides a neat glimpse at what we'll get for free when it releases later this month.

Today is a good day for fans of military aircraft, as we also get a development update and a new look at the Panavia Tornado by IndiaFoxtEcho

The developer has basically redone the model and textures from scratch since its last showing, and they're now more accurate and detailed. Yet, there is still "a lot of work to be done." The IDS version will be the baseline for developing the cockpit and systems, but more variants will be included.

BearStudios announced that its work on the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15bis is now done and the developer will contact publishers this week to get ready for its release.

Alongside the announcement, we also get to see a few screenshots, that you can enjoy below.

Last, but not least, Pyreegue revealed a new video clip of its East Midlands Airport (EGNX) in the UK. This one is quite interesting, as it shows a.... dynamic clock in te Rolls Royce hangar.

At this point, it's hard to say where the flight simulator add-on ends and the ultra-detailed virtual diorama begins. I'll let you decide.
