A bunch of bug fixes and small changes have arrived in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Update 3, although that's not to say there isn't some new content, too — new customization options have also arrived to add a bit of style to your plane.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 has enjoyed a fairly robust playerbase since its launch late last summer. Although the playerbase has fallen off, there are still more than 10,000 people playing it every day on Steam alone. Now, a bunch of fixes, changes, and a handful of improvements have arrived in the latest update!

What's New in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Update 3?

Sadly, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Update 3 does not have any major avionics updates or an Xbox release just yet. That said, the developers have added in a few cool new features in the meantime.

Three new pieces of content are included in this update. The first is the addition of these legacy Flight Simulator X liveries for appropriate planes:

  • Emerald Gold
  • Global Freightways
  • Kenmore
  • Orbit
  • Pacifica
  • World Travel

Adding to this is the second addition: contrails. Contrails can be seen on your own plane, although they're not yet supported for multiplayer or AI planes just yet.

The third and final new piece of content is a new customization menu in the World map. You can now have an "empty" center of gravity position that differs from a plane with fuel and passengers in it, just like the real world. Planes can also get a bit of character with the addition of changeable control surface limits and the ability to add some slight wear and tear to planes, both of which will better simulate real-world conditions.

These are just some of the changes that have arrived in today's update; you can read about all of them in the full Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Update 3 patch notes. You can take to the skies yourself by buying Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 for PC via Steam or the Microsoft Store starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent.
