Microsoft Flight Simulator F4 Phantom

Today third-party developers released two major airports for Microsoft Flight Simulator and revealed news about more add-ons.

We start with DC Designs, which revealed new images of the F-4 Phantom showing the external model and cockpit. On top of that, the developer announced that the previously-announced A-10 Thunderbolt II will be free for both PC and Xbox. We don't yet get to learn exactly how or why, but news will be shared around May.

"There have also been some questions about the A-10 that was recently released for MSFS by another developer, and whether ours would go ahead. All I am allowed to say is that, if you’re willing to wait, our A-10 for PC and Xbox with correct optimisation for performance, proper custom sounds, custom systems and displays, will cost you precisely nothing. Zero. Nada. I can’t say any more than that at this time, but things will become clearer around May. So, if you love the A-10, but also wish to save money, sit tight and wait it out, it’ll be more than worth it."

Next, we get an announcement from Orbx, which revealed an upcoming rendition of Tivat Airport (LYTV) in Montenegro. We don't yet have a release date, but below you can take a look at a few screenshots and read a list of features.

  • Detailed terminal interiors
  • Parallax windows
  • Custom apron and runway textures
  • Optimised for Xbox
  • Custom library objects
  • Porto Montenegro and NAVAR Yacht Service and other custom POIs on approach

iniBuilds and iBlueYonder announced a release date for the upcoming Dalla Love Field Airport (KDAL). It'll release on Monday, April 3. You can also watch a trailer below showing off this old and glorious airport.

Moving on to releases, Drzewiecki Design finally released Tallinn Airport (EETN) serving the capital of Estonia.

It's currently available on iniBuilds' store and on Simmarket starting at $22.90

  • A quality model of EETN Tallinn, featuring the up-to-date version with extensive details throughout the whole airport
  • FPS-friendly design, with epic night textures, dynamic lighting and PBR materials, high-definition mesh
  • Performance-friendly interior modeling at all terminal buildings, most hangars, and the control tower, static aircraft, custom animations, animated jetways
  • Tallinn City landmarks included

Another release comes from FSDG, which launched Blaise Diagne International Airport (GOBD) serving the capital of Senegal, Dakar.

It's available on the developer's own store for €14,99.

  • Accurate rendition of Blaise Diagne International Airport, Dakar, Senegal (GOBD)
  • MSFS technologies (dynamic lighting, reflective textures,...)
