Game Pass Referral System

Today Microsoft announced a referral program for its PC Game Pass service.

If you're an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass user, you can now send trials for PC Game Pass to up to five friends. You can do so directly via the app or via the web.

Those you send the trial to will receive all the benefits of PC Game Pass for 14 days. In order to be eligible, your friends need to have never been subscribed to Game Pass before.

Of course, since this is effective immediately, it also means that your five friends can play the newly-released Redfall by Arkane Austin for free if they're into shooting vampires.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, which you can watch below.

It's worth mentioning that, unlike other referral programs, this one doesn't seem to have any reward if your friends end up subscribing, so don't expect further perks besides providing your friends with a good time.

It's also with clarifying that this has nothing to do with the Game Pass for Friends & Family service, which has been available for a while on a few markets, but still has not made it to Xbox's major markets, with no indication on when or even if it'll actually come.
