MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death, the same Idea Factory International title that made headlines when it was blocked from receiving a rating in Australia a few weeks ago, has been confirmed for a September release in both North America and Europe. The title releases on September 13th for North America and September 16th in Europe, exclusively for PlayStation Vita systems. Unfortunately, Australians will have to import to get their hands on this title.

As we've previously reported, MeiQ: Labyrinth of Death is a first-person Dungeon-crawling jRPG. The title was developed by the same team that worked on Trillion: God of Destruction, for the hardcore DRPG-playing audience. Filled with a wide variety of customization options for the player's party and with a variety of difficulty options to play with - the title looks to be another promising DRPG for the system with an increasingly large DRPG library. When it releases in a few months, it should join titles such as Demon Gaze, Stranger of Sword City, and Dungeon Travelers 2 as a part of the burgeoning Vita DRPG library.

One of the most unique aspects of MeiQ's gameplay is the addition of Guardians - not only do players have to control a party of  "Machina Mages" through a variety of dungeons, but also their mechanical Guardians. Players upgrade and customize both their Mages and Guardians separately as they progress through the title. Much like other DRPG titles, the game has a killer difficulty and focuses heavily on party configuration in battles.

With today's announcement Idea Factory International has released a new trailer for the title, highlighting some of its features. Feel free to take a look at it, embedded below! I managed to check out the title for a decent amount of time at AnimeExpo this year, so expect a preview (and a review!) closer to the game's release in early fall!
