Developer Vox Games and publisher Modularity's Meeple Station originally released back in January 2019. Since then, the developer continuously added new content, reiterated its existing features and mechanics based on its community feedback, and drew inspiration from Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress for their upcoming version 1.0 release.
The two-manned studio published an extensive blog post revealing Meeple Station is finally going into version 1.0. It won't come quietly, as the developer revealed new features added to the game. First up is the Tutorials where players can learn the ins-and-outs of Meeple Station. The development team took into consideration the community's feedback, and reiterated and reworked the tutorial system and what it offers to get players to better understand the title's mechanics and new features.
Not only that, the newly introduced Hyperdrive feature lets you pick up your entire system and go to another planet. This is supposedly something the development team has been working on since the Planets update. Last but not least, Meeple Station will receive a dedicated campaign mode. Although the studio didn't reveal much detail regarding how it will work or its storyline, it will probably take advantage of the revamped custom events and improved interactions with surrounded star systems.
Several months ago we decided to go quiet, just put our heads down, and dedicate a huge effort into smashing out a giant backlog of major and minor persistent bugs that have managed to darken our dev-days for all too long now- and implement new and partially-implemented features that have been on the backburner waiting for the parts they needed to be complete. All of the bug-fixing, optimization, and polishing we’ve accomplished go along-side with a crop of new features [like the events system] that were needed for the new Campaign Mode.
Meeple Station version 1.0 releases on the 30th of March, with its new campaign mode.
