The Medium release date has been delayed to 2021 for PC and Xbox One X, pushing back this Silent Hill-esque horror game to after the holidays.
If you haven't been following The Medium, you've missed out on what may be one of the spookiest next-gen releases. Most recently, it has been banned in Australia for unknown reasons, possibly owing to the creepy themes that are explored in this game that allows players to simultaneously explore two worlds.

Why is The Medium Release Date Delayed?
The Medium release date delay is happening for two reasons. The first is well-familiar to anyone who has been following the gaming world over the last year: COVID-19 development challenges have apparently slowed down development. Surprisingly, Bloober Team has stated a second reason alongside the common refrain of pandemic troubles.
"It wasn't an easy choice to make, but one made due to the COVID-19 situation in Poland, as well as the current schedule of other games on the market." – The Medium release date delay announcement
Bloober Team also notes "the current schedule of other games on the market" as a reason for the delay in the tweet announcing the delay. The Medium was originally intended to launch around December 10, 2020, and it would have been facing stiff competition on that date. Several games are launching around that time, but the most notable is undoubtedly Cyberpunk 2077, a game that recently announced a third release date delay that pushed it back to — you guessed it — December 10, 2020.
Bloober Team says that it will be able to use the extra time to "add further polish" and ultimately give players a better experience overall, although some people will surely be disappointed that they'll have to wait a few more weeks to play it.
When is the New The Medium Release Date?
The Medium release date has been confirmed as January 28, 2021, pushing it back by roughly six weeks. While this delay may be disappointing to some, Bloober Team has at least managed to avoid announcing a vague release date window for The Medium.
On the upside, the developers still have plenty of information to share about the game with its potential players. You can expect to learn more about this spooky world in the coming weeks.
