The Medieval Dynasty Windmill Update has arrived, adding a new building, a decoration system to the game, 30 new locations of interest, and more.
Medieval Dynasty is (as the name implies) a game about starting your own dynasty in the medieval era. Players flee a war-torn region to meet a family friend in an unfamiliar town and eventually learn how to build a life for themselves, start a family, and establish a town with NPCs.
Since its launch late last year, the developers have focused on adding content such as a third-person perspective, the first part of its post-launch roadmap. That was followed by a rather silly teaser for the Windmill Update. Now, the Medieval Dynasty Windmill Update has finally arrived, and it, too, has a silly promotional video to go along with the new game content.
What's New in the Medieval Dynasty Windmill Update?
First and foremost, the Medieval Dynasty Windmill Update adds the titular building to the game. The Windmill building is the top-tier building in the Farming Building tree; it requires 10,000 Technology to unlock it. Once unlocked, you can build it for 6 Logs and 10 Planks. This new building allows you to make Flour more efficiently than the Querns at the Barn.
Also arriving in this update is the new Decoration system. Once a house is built, you can select walls with the hammer equipped and select from a number of decorations, including light sources like candles. The decoration system doesn't work with every building, mind. You'll also have to have enough Technology for each decoration and pay to unlock the recipe as with most other craftables.
The final notable addition in this update is over 30 new locations of interest that can generate on the map, bringing a little more life to the bleak wilderness. You can read about all of the changes in the full Medieval Dynasty Windmill Update patch notes. If you haven't yet jumped into the game, you can buy Medieval Dynasty for PC via Steam starting at $26.24 or your regional equivalent, a 25% discount that lasts until March 7, 2022.
