Dreams developer Media Molecule is looking into ways to let its creators use their in-game content for "business uses". The dev has launched beta applications for this process which you can check out via this link.

Media Molecule says it wants the Dreams community - what it calls the "Dreamiverse" - to be a "wonderful and attractive place" for content creators. Right now, you can use your Dreams creations for personal use - you could put them on a T-shirt, for example, or create an artwork or music portfolio with them. With that in mind, the studio is looking to allow creators to use their creations in external business endeavors. Examples given at this early stage include music videos and concept art.

If you want to use your Dreams creations for a non-PlayStation business purpose, you'll need to sign up to the beta evaluation. Right now, Media Molecule says it's only accepting applications from Early Access members "in good standing". You'll need to have creations that are viewable by Media Molecule. These can take the form of individual creations or a showreel.

Once you've met these conditions, you'll also need to have a project in mind. Media Molecule says you'll have to have a time frame for your project and be willing to provide them with feedback about how your Dreams integration is going. The full application criteria can be found here, so make sure you read thoroughly before you take the plunge. If you have any questions that aren't answered by those criteria, you can email Media Molecule.

Studio director Siobhan Reddy says she's excited to see what kind of applications this beta evaluation will bring in. We'll no doubt be hearing about how this has gone in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, make sure to dig out your best Dreams creations and get ready to email Media Molecule with your hopes and...dreams erm...aspirations. You can also keep an eye on the official Dreams roadmap, which contains a timeline on future updates for the game.
