Barbie and Matchbox company Mattel has announced a partnership with Outright Games, which is apparently a "leading publisher" of family-friendly games.
According to a press release, Mattel is looking for "top-tier" studios with which to work on video game adaptations of some of its most beloved IPs, and to that end, the toy giant has apparently settled on Bluey: The Videogame developer Outright.
In said press release, Outright's Stephanie Malham says her studio prides itself on expanding major IPs into "cherished video games", which feels just a touch like an overstatement to me, but hey.

Together, Mattel and Outright are working on three major projects based on Mattel IPs, and all three of them are set to launch on PC and consoles before the end of 2024.
Those games are Matchbox Driving Adventures, Monster High: Skulltimate Secrets, and Barbie Project Friendship. No prizes for guessing which Mattel IPs they'll all be based on.
According to the aforementioned press release, Matchbox Driving Adventures will offer "high-speed competitive driving adventures", while Barbie and Monster High will provide "stories that emphasize teamwork and foster friendship".
Whether or not that means the latter two will be primarily co-op focused remains to be seen, but more information will be available in the coming months. Better get those tenterhooks ready.

This isn't the first time Outright has teamed up with a well-known company whose products are largely intended for kids. All the way back in 2018, Outright teamed up with Crayola for the Tony Hawk-esque Crayola Scoot, which is presumably another one of the publisher's "cherished" titles.
Mattel is also already pretty well-represented in the gaming space thanks to titles like Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 - Turbocharged and Forza Horizon 5's Barbie-themed content, although Outright isn't involved with either of these, naturally.
We'll have to wait and see what this collaboration yields, but I'm sure the three games outlined by the two companies will be all-time classics. Stay tuned for more.
