Electronic Arts have revealed the system requirements for their upcoming space opera Mass Effect: Andromeda. The game, which is set long after the events of Mass Effect 3, sees players join a crew of hopeful colonists on their way to colonize the mysterious Andromeda galaxy, bringing with them a colorful cast of characters from races familiar to fans of the franchise, as well as a range of new races that all have their own opinions about humans settling in their galaxy.
And now, without further ado, here are the minimum specs you'll need to run Mass Effect: Andromeda.
OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 PROCESSOR: Intel Core i5 3570 or AMD FX-6350 MEMORY: 8 GB RAM VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB, AMD Radeon 7850 2GB HARD DRIVE: At least 55 GB of free space DIRECTX: DirectX 11
That's not too bad! The i5 processor they recommend is one that was released in the second quarter of 2012, so chances are you've already upgraded your rig to something higher in the years that followed. The video cards mentioned above are both starting to age a bit, so you could get it on the cheap if your graphics card isn't up to scratch.
OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 PROCESSOR: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD FX-8350 MEMORY: 16 GB RAM VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GTX 1060 3GB, AMD RX 480 4GB HARD DRIVE: At least 55 GB of free space DIRECTX: DirectX 11
The recommended specs are, as expected, a little heavier than the minimum requirements. Even though you'll need a stronger rig, the Frostbite engine is still doing a marvelous job at keeping the specs closer to the midrange than high range. Regardless of all that, you'll be able to get a decent performance out of the game without having to break the bank completely. One thing that is notable is that Mass Effect: Andromeda won't be making use of the DirectX 12 technology. This might change at some point after the game's release, but it seems like DirectX 12 support won't be included in the retail version of the game.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is set to release for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 21 in North America and March 23 in Europe!
