Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released in North America on March 21st, 2017 and in Europe on March 23rd, 2017. The official release date was made public by Aaryn Flynn, the general manager of BioWare, in a recent news post on the Mass Effect website.
Flynn also described some of the recent testing that the game has undergone. As part of a BioWare tradition, members of the development studio took home a version of Mass Effect: Andromeda to play at their leisure over the holiday break. Developers played this "holiday build" over the break, according to Flynn, and returned with some feedback for the game:
Coming back from holiday, the feedback has been great. Getting the endorsement from members of our studio, many of whom played key roles on the original trilogy, was definitely a key factor in helping us lock in on the date.Flynn also included some more general information concerning Mass Effect: Andromeda, including the fact that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be the first Mass Effect game on the Frostbite game engine.
This March 21st release date didn't come completely out of the blue, either. October of last year it was discovered that a concept art book that was expected to launch alongside the game was slated for release on March 21st, 2017. You can check out the full story here.
Mass Effect: Andromeda was originally scheduled to launch late 2016 but was delayed to early 2017 nearly a year ago. In other recent Mass Effect: Andromeda news, GameInformer recently published an album of brand-new screenshots from the game. Check out the full gallery here.
