Earlier today, a rumor surfaced alleging that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 included co-op elements. Insomniac Games has taken to Twitter to clarify.
Actor Nadji Jeter, who plays Miles Morales, appeared to confirm co-op gameplay in a recording from a Q&A hosted at SacAnime, but Insomniac mentioned that "Nope! It is an epic single-player adventure."
While playing Peter Parker while having Miles Morales played by a friend (or the other way around) may have sounded appealing, apparently, it wasn't to be.
It's quite possible that we'll see more about the game at the PlayStation showcase that will be aired on Wednesday, and promises a good look at Sony Interactive Entertainment's upcoming pipeline. Recently, a prequel comic dedicated to the game has been published by Marvel.
At the moment, we know that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will release in the fall for PS5, but the release date has not been announced just yet. In the meanwhile, you can read our review of its predecessor, in which our Alex Santa Maria said that it "delivers off the wall combat and a fresh take on the Spider-mythos that should have fans of all stripes pumped."
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PS5 has also just been released as a stand-alone game on the PlayStation Store. If you already have the original game for PS4, you can get the usual paid upgrade for $10.
We'll stand by for further information on the sequel from Sony and Insomniac, and hopefully, we'll have more to report on Wednesday.
