Get ready to don the Spidey suit once more, as Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has a release window. Sony and Insomniac Games' superhero followup will arrive in fall 2023. It's currently slated for PlayStation 5, but with Sony's plan for bringing most of its exclusives eventually to PC, including the first Spidey and Miles Morales which are both now on PC, it's likely this one will as well well after the release.

This news comes via the PlayStation Blog, where Sony posted a highlight reel of some of the biggest stuff coming to PS5 next year. The first item on that list is Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and a short message from Insomniac reveals that the studio is currently working on getting the game "ready for release next fall".

Of course, it's worth noting that this isn't a full release date. The game was revealed in September last year, so it's likely Insomniac is still hard at work making the game. It could be a while until we get a release date for it, but knowing it's coming in fall should at least help to whet your Spidey appetite somewhat.

Both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be making their return in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

So, what can we expect from Marvel's Spider-Man 2? Well, as Sony points out in its blog, details are still pretty thin on the ground right now. It's likely we'll get a full gameplay and story reveal in the next few months, but for now, we know that Peter Parker and Miles Morales will both be returning after starring in their own respective Spider-Man games. We also know that actor Tony Todd will appear in the game as Venom.

It's a pretty good time to be a Spider-Man fan right now. The recent MCU movie Spider-Man: No Way Home was only released last year, but it's already become the sixth highest-grossing movie of all time, and there's more Spidey cinematic goodness on the way as well. On Tuesday, a trailer for the upcoming animated sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was released, and eagle-eyed fans quickly spotted Insomniac's Spidey, who's played by veteran voice actor Yuri Lowenthal in the games, in the trailer. How will this Spidey be used in the movie? Will he just be a cameo or will he take a more central role? We'll have to wait and see.
