Gazillion has announced that their Super Hero PC game Marvel Heroes will be coming to consoles this spring as Marvel Heroes Omega. Drawing from action role-playing games and MMO’s the free to play game encourages cooperative play and incorporates a huge list of characters and locations from the Marvel universe. The game will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One soon, but no release date has been announced yet.

PC players have been enjoying the Marvel Heroes world for about three years and now console players will be able to get in on the action.  The PC version of the game will continue to be supported but Marvel Heroes Omega will be different. That means PC players won’t be able to transfer over their progress and purchases.

Marvel Heroes Omega will include a large roster of heroes to play as including members of the X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers. It will also span the universe’s most notable locations from New York to Asgard. Various headquarters are located around the world where players can team up with other heroes to take on difficult challenges.

A closed beta on PS4 will be starting soon giving players a chance to try out the new console version of the game. An Early Access program is planned for after the beta and an Xbox One beta will happen at a later date.

Marvel Heroes Omega

The game will launch with 38 heroes including popular heroes Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Storm, and Deadpool. There will be hundreds of costumes for players to collect as well as 9 chapters to play through. Take on villains Doctor Doom and Loki with more to come post launch.

Gameplay will include patrolling Midtown Manhattan to defend it against unrelenting waves of enemies, the X-Men Danger Room training simulator and trials on various difficulty modes to prepare players for the toughest challenges. After completing the story content players will unlock “Legendary Missions” that will allow them to purchase “Legendary Items”. There will be less content in Marvel Heroes Omega than in Marvel Heroes for PC so that the developers can create the “best possible experience at launch” according to the FAQ but regular content post launch is planned.

PlayStation Plus members that participate in the closed beta will get a few perks. These include a free “Man Without Fear” costume for Daredevil, in-game discounts and limited time exclusive access to select heroes. Xbox Live members will get some rewards as well but the details on that aren’t yet available. A special Founder's Pack will be available for a 6 month period that will include Iron Fist and War Machine.
