After a delay, you'll now be able to play the upcoming mobile title Mario Kart Tour soon with its upcoming closed beta.
Nintendo has opened applications to become a tester for Mario Kart Tour's closed beta session. While the game is still slated for Summer 2019, if you're itching to play a new Mario Kart game, this might be for you.
There are a few caveats, as this beta isn't for everyone. First, Nintendo is only accepting those from Japan and the United States. Secondly, while Mario Kart Tour is releasing on Android and iOS, the company is only allowing those with an Android operating system to apply.
The beta test will be very soon. Applications are being accepted from April 23, 2019, through May 7, 2019, at 7:59 p.m. Pacific. As of right now, there is less than a week left, so be sure to apply quickly. The official website has a QR code that you can scan to get started to sign up for the Mario Kart Tour beta. Here is a link to the site.
The Mario Kart Tour beta is planned to run from May 22, 2019 to June 4, 2019. According to the website, they are only accepting a limited number of testers. Nintendo adds: "If the number of applications exceeds the number of possible participants, we will randomly select the participants." Given the popularity of recent Nintendo mobile titles, the company will likely rely on this lottery system.
If Mario Kart isn't your thing, then you might be interested in another upcoming Nintendo title for smartphones: Dr. Mario World. Last January, Nintendo announced a partnership with LINE Corporation to create this new mobile game.
Be sure to sign up for the Mario Kart Tour beta now if you're either in the US or Japan, and own an Android device. Sign-ups are still going on up until May 7, 2019, so be sure to scan that QR code if you're interested.
