The Marauders closed alpha start date has been revealed -- you'll be able to get a first look at this game similar to Escape from Tarkov in early May 2022 if you pre-order.
Marauders is a game that's very much in the vein of Escape from Tarkov. You (and up to three of your friends) take on the roles of space pirates raiding a ship out in the vast darkness of the universe, trying to steal everything you can without getting shot to pieces. Check out the latest trailer so you can get a feel for the vibe of this game:
If you've never played Escape from Tarkov, here's the basic rundown of how this style of gameplay works: players enter the game world in a "raid" equipped with whatever gear they bring in. They'll typically have to fight other players and (in some games) NPCs. Your ultimate goal is to loot items and complete quests. If you survive and escape, you'll get to keep all of the goodies you've taken. Die, and you'll lose everything (or almost everything) you had on your person.
Many of the key elements of Tarkov are there -- intense combat, a robust health and status system, and lots of loot. Interestingly, it also looks like you'll have to fly a spaceship to escape -- an understandable decision considering the setting.
Marauders is not the only game similar to Escape from Tarkov that was announced in recent months -- a medieval spin on the gameplay called Expedition Agartha was announced late last year.
