Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator publisher Excalibur Games has announced Resort Boss: Golf, a new tycoon game about - you guessed it - managing a golf resort.

The game was previously known as Boss Golf, and is being created by industry veteran Gus Martin, who's worked on projects like Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XVResort Boss: Golf will task players with building a golf resort from a one-hole course to a five-star luxury resort, managing not only the courses themselves but ancillary facilities like hotels and restaurants.

To commemorate the game's announcement, Excalibur uploaded a trailer to YouTube showcasing the game's idiosyncratic visuals and gameplay.

It's a pretty short trailer, but it shows off the level of depth and complexity with which players can approach their resort. A press release given by Excalibur says players will be able to utilize "expansive landscaping tools" to mold terrain, plant trees, and shape the geography of their resort however they want. All the usual golf course features will be available including bunkers, water hazards and even cliff edges (once that ball's gone, don't send your caddy to fetch it).

As well as the landscaping tools, Resort Boss: Golf will also feature economic management. You'll need to keep an eye on your balance sheets as well as make decisions about staffing, retail and hotel management. If all this sounds too stressful, don't worry; Resort Boss: Golf will also allow you to sneak off to the course and enjoy a round of golf yourself.

Resort Boss: Golf is Gus Martin's first foray into solo development, but the weight of a well-known publisher like Excalibur Games will be a boon for him. The game will be released via Steam Early Access on February 7th, 2019, so start planning your perfect luxury golfing retreat now.
