PC gamers (myself included) can be a picky bunch. We spend an exorbitant amount of money on our gaming rigs and expect high performance with it. That is not always the result, however. In the case of hangar 13’s Mafia 3, the game launched capped at 30 frames per second. Gamers with an expensive machine often expect 60 FPS as a standard. The latest patch of the game looks to fix this issue.
Mafia 3’s patch 1.01 launched for free on Steam with more information on it on the Steam community page. The patch allows for customizable framerates in the game’s menus. Instead of being capped at 30, players can select 30, 60, or an unlimited framerate. The patch also touches up keyboard remapping options. However, the implementation of the patch causes previous keyboard remappings to set to default.
The game throws players in the gangster-ridden city of New Bordeaux in the late 60s. The New Orleans inspired city is an open world for the players to explore. Players fight through third-person cover-based shooting.
Hanger 13 promises to continue updating the game according to the Mafia 3’s website. Players will soon receive access to new outfits, golden weapons, vehicle customizations, and races. Soon these features will see the light of day in upcoming patches for free.
Furthermore, substantial story content will be available for those who purchase the season pass for $29.99. Hanger 13 promises three additions for season pass owners.

Quick TakeAs a PC gamer, I understand everyone’s frustration with a game that doesn’t run well. Assuming the patch works well, it’s great to see Hanger 13 listening to fan feedback. I plan on playing Mafia 3 eventually, but this is a reminder that I made the right choice by not picking it up on day one.
