The Madden 22 PC version will not have the next-gen features that are debuting on PC and Xbox Series X|S, although EA Sports may have a good reason for not including them.

Madden 22 is the next yearly installment of the Madden American football franchise. This game will feature the usual roster updates and both Tom Brady & Patrick Mahomes as the cover athletes. Unfortunately, it looks like the PC version of the game is going to be missing some features.

When Next-Gen Features is Madden 22 PC Missing?

As Sports Gamers Online reports (via Reddit), the Madden 22 PC version will not have the next-gen features that are debuting for the franchise on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The specific features in question are the Madden 22's Next Gen Stats Star Driven AI, Gameday Atmosphere, and Next Gen Movement 2.0.

The missing features were highlighted in the above chart from this blog post. This isn't the first time this has happened, either. The launch of FIFA 21 faced a similar lack of next-gen features for PC players, although an EA executive had a sensible explanation for the decision.

"When we looked at what generation to put the PC game [of FIFA 21] on, we looked at our fans and what capabilities they had with the hardware they have," FIFA 21 Executive Producer Aaron McHardy told Eurogamer.

"And we have that information to understand what the power of the PCs out there in the world are. And when we looked at that, in order to run the gen five game, our min spec would have been at a spot that would have left a lot of people out in the cold not being able to play [FIFA 21]."

It seems likely that Madden 22 is missing next-gen features on PC for the same reason, but we can't say for certain. We also don't know if the Google Stadia version of the game will have these next-gen features or not.

We've reached out to EA for comment on this matter and will update this article when we receive a reply. For now, you can pre-purchase Madden 22 on PC and consoles via its official website starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent.

What do you think of the Madden 22 PC version missing next-gen features? Is the lack of these features a dealbreaker for you? Let us know in the comments below!
