Lost Ark Founder's Pack sales have crossed 1.5 million units as of February 10th -- a strong start for this new action RPG from Smilegate and Amazon Games.
Smilegate and Amazon Games first announced that they were teaming up to publish Lost Ark in the West last year. The game has been out in Asian regions for a good few years and the two companies are leveraging that back catalog to offer up a healthy amount of content for new players to enjoy at launch. Now, we have a better idea of how many people have jumped into the game.
Lost Ark Founder's Pack Sales Are a Strong Start for Smilegate
As Gamemeca's Mi-Hee Kim reports on Naver (via Reddit), Smilegate has announced that Lost Ark Founder's Pack sales have cumulatively hit 1.5 million as of February 10, 2022. 350,000 copies were sold on the 9th. Based on these numbers, it looks like a fair chunk of the playerbase waited until virtually the last minute to get in on the game.
Unsurprisingly, most of these players aren't wasting any time actually playing the game. Yesterday, we reported that the Lost Ark playercount exceeded 500,000 players. The playercount ultimately peaked at 532,476 at the time of writing and it has been steadily floating between 250,000-500,000 players in the time since then.
While these numbers are certainly impressive, we may see an even bigger population explosion when Lost Ark launches its free-to-play version tomorrow. If you don't want to wait, you can pre-purchase Lost Ark for PC via Steam starting at $14.99 or your regional equivalent and get into the game without having to wait.
