Nacon and Daedalic Entertainment have announced a new special edition package for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, and it's been designed with serious Tolkien-heads in mind. The Precious Edition comes complete with extras like exclusive concept art, a Lord of the Rings lore compendium, and even a super-nerdy additional voiceover package.
Per a press release, the Precious Edition will cost you an extra $10 on top of the game itself, and it's got some great goodies if you're a Tolkien devotee. First up, you're getting more than 100 extra concept art pieces showing how Daedalic and Nacon put The Lord of the Rings: Gollum together, with the developer and publisher promising "original sketches and development secrets". What are they hiding, hobbitses?
You're also getting a Lord of the Rings lore compendium that will teach you more about the history of Middle-earth, which is perfect if you want a little background for Gollum's adventures. The 17-track orchestral soundtrack should, of course, be used as background for reading the book or for perusing the concept art.

Perhaps the most interesting element of this new package, however, is an extra voiceover set for some of the characters. The Precious Edition comes with additional Sindarin lines for some of Gollum's Elvish characters, which are intended to immerse you even further in Tolkien's world. Looks like all those Sindarin language classes are finally paying off, eh?
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum's Precious Edition will set you back $59.99 on Steam and $69.99 across PlayStation and Xbox. That's an extra $10 on top of the price for the base game (which obviously comes as part of the Precious Edition as well). You'll be able to check out The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, no matter which edition you decide to buy, when it finally launches on May 25th.
