If you're excited for Gollum's latest Middle-earth adventure, then Nacon and Daedalic have a treat for you. The new The Lord of the Rings: Gollum pre-order trailer is here, teasing a few scenes from Gollum's sneaky journey and also showing you what you'll get if you pick up the recently-announced Precious Edition.
The trailer opens with Gandalf asking Gollum what he told "the Dark Lord" (presumably meaning Sauron), to which Gollum responds "nothing, I swear". We then see Gollum sneaking through a variety of environments in Middle-earth, overhearing important conversations, and encountering the forces of Mordor, who appear to be on the hunt for him. You can check out the pre-order trailer here.
As well as getting a glimpse of what we can expect from Gollum's adventure, we also get another quick look at the contents of the Precious Edition, which you can get for an extra $10 on top of the base game's price. The package adds several tantalizing extras for Tolkien fans, like a lore compendium, plenty of concept art, and a rather intriguing Sindarin voiceover pack for Elvish characters.
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a stealth action-adventure game created by Daedalic Entertainment and published by Nacon. Running parallel to the events of The Fellowship of the Ring, the game will take Gollum through the lands of the Elvenking Thranduil, the lair of the spider Shelob, and the dread Mouth of Sauron itself as he endeavors to stay alive in a hostile world.
Gollum is no warrior, so you'll need to rely on your cunning and wits to outsmart and sneak past enemies rather than confronting them in direct combat. As you play, you'll also be confronted with the dichotomy between Gollum's two personalities: that of the vicious Gollum and that of the friendly and penitent Smeagol.
You'll be able to check out The Lord of the Rings: Gollum when it launches for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on May 25th. The game is also set to arrive on Nintendo Switch at a later date.
