Back in 2012, there was a game announced called Bruce: The Game by a Polish developer called Tabasco Interactive. It caught attention because it had a striking film noir and comic book visual style and stood out from the horde of platformers that routinely get sent to media types. Some complications arose for the developer, however, and it was announced that it had been put on indefinite hiatus.
That was the last we heard of Bruce: The Game, and in many cases it would lead to many what-ifs and what could have beens being asked by people who were interested. However, in this case, the people wondering about it weren't just fans or media types, instead some developer and publisher types looked into it as well. Thus, after a long period of radio silence, Logic Artists (Creators of the Expeditions series), and IMGN.PRO (creators of Kholat and a publishing company) announced today that they were reviving the 2.5d Platformer Bruce: The Game.

Exactly what the arrangement in the situation is unclear, as is how Tabasco is involved, if at all. What we can see, though, is that this is a great looking game with a stand out aesthetic and tone that few games can match, and some very talented developers working on it.
According to the release, you can expect a "lot of brutal fights and a mature story," which appears to be in the style of the inspirations like Sin City, in that mature means blood, violence, and sex.
We are attempting to get some more information on what has been going on around the title, but with Gamescom going on, the developers are likely to be slow to respond. We will update when we learn more.
Bruce: The Game will be coming to PC and Consoles in 2017.
Quick Take
It's always great to see a game get revived, and the visual style for Bruce is very striking and well-done. If I had to guess, the set up is IMGN.PRO bought the assets and IP, and Logic Artists is leading the development, but it could be a collaborative effort. Still, both of these companies have proven the worth of their chops before and worked on some solid titles, although a platformer is a different type of title for both of them.
