Aksys Games announced that Yasuhiro Wada's next game, Little Dragons Cafe will available for PS4 and Switch sometime this summer. Wada is well-known for his work on the Harvest Moon games, as well as the recent Happy Birthdays. Little Dragons Cafe looks similar to the Harvest Moon series, incorporating crafting, cooking, and dragon raising. Wada's new IP will be developed concurrently with Aksys, instead of his Toybox company. Little else is known at this time, with Aksys promising more info "soon."
After moving into a miniaturized world-simulation with Happy Birthdays, it seems as though Yasuhiro Wada couldn't stay away from farming for long. Based on Aksys describing Little Dragons Cafe as a "Dragon Husbandry Simulator," I would wager it's going to be closer to Rune Factory rather than Harvest Moon. The story is a family affair, as a pair of siblings must figure out a way to wake their mother, who has fallen into a deep sleep. A strange old man gives the siblings a small dragon, and they must learn to both raise a dragon and run the family's cafe.
Without any screenshots or video, it's hard to say what Little Dragons Cafe is going to adopt as a visual style. As Aksys did say that it had been in development for over two years now, and with the summer quarter rapidly approaching, we're likely going to see more of Little Dragons Cafe soon. Fans of farming/RPG/cooking game cocktails can get their hands on Little Dragons Cafe on both Switch and PS4 later this year.
