Developer Frame Break has announced that the Lightyear Frontier Early Access release has unfortunately been delayed. Citing the "tricky" development process and a need to ensure that the game's many systems are "well-balanced", Frame Break says that Lightyear Frontier won't be arriving in spring anymore.
In a statement posted on Twitter, Frame Break says that the "difficult decision" to delay Lightyear Frontier came as a result of a desire to make the game a "thoughtfully-designed experience". Video game development, according to Frame Break, is "tricky", which is why the studio doesn't feel able to reveal a new release window yet. The developer says it'll "communicate a new [release window] as soon as we can", though.
Of course, this doesn't mean you won't be hearing anything about Lightyear Frontier in the coming weeks and months. Frame Break says it's still committed to keeping the game's community looped into the conversation, and that it will "keep sharing what we're working on as development continues".

Frame Break describes Lightyear Frontier as a "peaceful open-world farming adventure on a planet at the far edge of the galaxy". Together with up to three friends (or, indeed, on your own), you'll create a new exofarm, grow exotic alien crops, and build your new home one building at a time with resources you find around the world.
When you're looking for something more adventurous to do, you can fire up your mech and head out from your homestead to explore the planet around you. It'll be full of "ancient secrets" and clues about the aliens who once lived here, which should give you plenty to keep you occupied while you wait for your crops to grow.
Lightyear Frontier is due to arrive on Steam via Early Access, although we no longer have a release window for it. Stay tuned to TechRaptor for more info about this rather cute-looking farming sim.
