Scavengers Studio just released a trailer for their story-driven narrative adventure game, Season: A Letter to the Future, and with it, we take a look at the characters and at the storytelling.
Now, let me just say personally, I am not a fan of narrative adventure games, but the trailer for Season: A Letter to the Future had a way of drawing me in as soon as I took a look at it. I am not sure if it's the art style or the cast of characters they presented, but it was immediately apparent that the story might be very good. We get to see the friends we will meet along the way, such as Kochi and his widowed mother, an artist named Maytora who tells her life story through sculptures, and the last known monk of Tieng Valley.
Players take on the life of a woman from a secluded village starting a journey around the world on her bicycle as she tries to gather all the best memories she can before it is all swept away by a cataclysmic event. As you travel, you will need to take pictures and document everything you see along the way before it disappears. Each character that you come across will have their own troubling backstory, and it is up to us to determine why it is all coming to an end in the first place.
The game is set to release on January 31, 2023, and will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
