Long-time LEGO gamers and Star Wars fans will be sad to see the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga release date delayed — it looks like TT Games just isn't going to be able to launch it this year, unfortunately.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a highly ambitious game that was supposed to arrive before the end of the year. This was no small project: it promised to take players through all nine Star Wars movies in one massive, entertaining experience.

Development of this game was progressing apace as far as we know, although both TT Games and WB Games have been relatively quiet on updates. We got to check it out at E3 2019 and we also learned that there are going to be new physical sets launched to coincide with the release of this game.
Unfortunately, it appears that something has gone awry in recent months — a 2020 release date for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga seems very unlikely now.
Why Was the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Release Date Delayed?

The delay was first noticed on ResetEra earlier today. At some point, the game's page on the official LEGO website quietly changed the release date. There haven't been any announcements, press releases, or any other official explanation for the delay, but I would put my money on some kind of slowdown due to work-from-home restrictions as that's largely been the reason for similar delays with other games.
When is the New LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Release Date?
We never truly had a firm release date for this new LEGO Star Wars game and not much has changed, with one exception: The Skyalker Saga will be coming out sometime in 2021.
A delay is bad enough, but this particular change is lacking in specifics. All we know is that it's coming sometime next year — they haven't given a more specific window, so we could potentially be waiting all the way until the end of 2021.
Given the scope of this game and the launch of new LEGO sets, it's understandable that LEGO and WB Games are holding off on launch. Hopefully, we won't have to wait too long to play what may be the greatest LEGO game released to date.
