The Legends of Runeterra open beta has been announced and it's going to be starting a lot sooner than you think. It won't be coming in Q2 2020. It won't be coming in February. In fact, you'll be able to sign up for the open beta and give one of RIot Games' many new ventures a whirl in less than two weeks — but you need to sign up sooner rather than later.

Check out some of the gameplay (and the Legends of Runeterra Open Beta announcement) in the video below:

If you missed the first round of news, Legends of Runeterra was announced in October 2019 along with a whole bunch of other cool stuff from Riot Games. This upcoming card game set in the League of Legends universe aims to mix up the formula and provide a different sort of "call and response" play that's not really like anything else on the market today.

Now, the devs are ramping up production and getting ready to release it to the world — you'll be able to get in on the Legends of Runeterra open beta on January 24, 2020, but only if you take the right steps.

How Do You Get Into the Legends of Runeterra Open Beta?

Signing up for the Runeterra Open Beta is a pretty straightforward process. All you have to do is go to playruneterra.com and click the Pre-Register to Play button right there on the front page.

There is one caveat, though — as GameWatcher reports, you'll need to sign up by January 19, 2020, at 11:59 PM to make your way into the Open Beta. Do it before then or you'll risk missing your chance at playing this upcoming digital card game!
