Battlefield 6 leaks have revealed the game will be called Battlefield 2042. Ahead of an official reveal later today, the leaks also contain info about the game's new systems and maps, as well as artwork, season pass perks, and more.
What do these Battlefield 6 leaks reveal?
These leaks come via Reddit user and web developer Popygay. By checking API methods and JavaScript sources on the Origin website, Popygay was able to discern a bunch of info about Battlefield 6, or, to give it its proper name, Battlefield 2042. Narratively, it'll take place in a world in which the USA and Russia are on the brink of all-out war, after a series of proxy wars (which also give rise to the game's new Specialist system). The leak contains some concept art showing different locales and situations, too. It's all fairly standard Battlefield stuff: explosions, wingsuited soldiers, smoky battlegrounds, et cetera.

As well as this new info, Popygay also unveiled some details about the game's new Specialist system. Battlefield 2042 will feature new Specialists "based on Battlefield's four Classes". Each Specialist will have a unique Trait and Specialty, but you'll be able to customize the rest of their loadout. Rather excitingly, EA is also promising the ability to "summon a robotic dog". You'll also have access to a grappling hook and a wingsuit, so mobility is very much the order of the day. It sounds like Battlefield 2042 will be launching on October 15th, although it's not clear whether that'll only be for EA Play Pro members or for everyone.
We'll be getting an official reveal of Battlefield 2042 in just a little while, so stay tuned to find out if these leaks are legit. You can check out the livestream with the official reveal right here. Of course, we'll bring you more on this as soon as we get it.
