1C Entertainment has announced a brand-new cyberpunk real-time strategy titled Re-Legion according to a press release.

Re-Legion has players taking command of a futuristic cult in a technocratic society. You'll be playing as Elion, a powerful man who seeks to convert the nonbelievers in his own personal cyberpunk crusade in a quest to reshape the world into something a little less depressing. Have a gander at the Official Atmospheric Trailer to see a bit of the game in motion:

As with any RTS, Re-Legion will require that the player gather up critical resources. Rather than just snapping up some shiny crystals with miners, you're instead tasked with converting citizens to your cause. Said converted citizens will join your cult as an Adept and can presumably be further augmented into different units from there. In short, you're playing a cyberpunk version of a monk from Age of Empires.

Of course, it wouldn't be a real-time strategy without something to combat against. Not everyone is going to sign over their souls without a fight and there will certainly be competing factions dead set on stopping you. Thankfully, your followers can generate CryproCredits and Faith to acquire new tech and abilities. You'll also have to hack into buildings and advertisement boards in order to expand your territory and further increase the size of your cult.

The game's "Dogmas" system will let you choose a number of different paths to your ultimate goal of spreading religion in the grimdark, cyberpunk future. Will you be a savior or a sadist? In either case, Re-Legion is aiming to have a good amount of replayability.

Re-Legion will be the first commercial title by Polish developer Ice Code Games. If this seems like the kind of game you'd love to play, you won't have to wait terribly long - it's set to release for the PC via Steam sometime in the first quarter of 2019.

What do you think of Re-Legion? Does the game's mechanics and setting appeal to you or do you prefer a more traditional kind of real-time strategy? Let us know in the comments below!
