LawBreakers has had a big content drop which announced a competitive mode, a new map & a new map variant, and a whole bunch of other goodies according to a news post on the game's Steam community page.

Perhaps the biggest announcement is the introduction of a competitive mode called Boss Leagues. Players can either solo queue or duo queue (provided that your partner is within your skill league) and take their shot at climbing the ladder. Competitive matches will have single role limits (as opposed to the limit of 2 in regular play). 12 of the game's maps - four each for the Blitzball, Uplink, and Occupy game modes - will comprise the map pool for Season 0 of the league. Players must be at least Level 5 and go through 10 placement matches before they can get into the league proper. Season 0 is considered the beta for the league and Boss Key will be soliciting feedback from players throughout the duration of the beta season.

A new map called Gateway and a new map variant called Redfalls Bloodmoon are being introduced. Redfalls Bloodmoon will be taking the place of Redfalls in the map rotation. You can see some bits of the map and learn more about the update by watching the Rapid Fire Dev Update video:

A new linear tutorial has been created to help ease new players into the fast-paced action of LawBreakers. The first iteration of custom reticles is all good to go. A variety of new items themed to the current update will be replacing the regular Stash drops for a limited time. Players will receive at least one Blitzball-themed item in every drop.

Some changes made in an earlier update are being dialed back a bit. Patch 1.4 (which released in late September) increased health regeneration to allow players the ability to stay in the fight longer and allowed players to spawn in groups. The health regen out of combat delay is being increased from 3 seconds to 5 seconds. The Enforcer and the Harrier are having their health pools reduced by 25 points each as well. As for group respawns, the minimum respawn time was supposed to increase from 3 seconds to 5 seconds, but a build error means that this won't make it into Patch 2.0. The change will be deployed in hotfix 2.0.1 at a later time.

Lawbreakers Redfalls Blood Moon
Redfalls Bloodmoon is a variant of the LawBreakers map that's just a bit more metal.

A multi-region queue has been added which will allow gamers from around the world to play against one another if they have acceptable ping. A new first win of the day bonus will be awarded for your first win in any mode. A Progression UI widget will allow players to track their account & boss league progression as well as their current creds total. In addition, XP awarded for time played has been increased across the board.

This is by no means an all-inclusive list of everything in this update; be sure to check out the patch notes for all of the details.  The devs will be hosting a community livestream on October 19. 2017, at 2:00 PM Eastern time on twitch.tv/lawbreakers where they will answer community questions, play some custom games with the community, and give away prizes including a few shirts. The All-Star Update for LawBreakers will deploy on October 19, 2017, during a 2-hour downtime beginning at 10:00 AM Eastern Time.

What do you think of the All-Star Update for LawBreakers? Do you think the changes made in this update are what's needed to keep the game going? Let us know in the comments below!
