Another day, another tidbit of news regarding the arrival of Halo 5: Guardians. Today, IGN revealed the list of playlists that will be available on October 27th when the game initially launches. 343 also states that there will be an ongoing rotational community playlist that will be voted on by the community. Once an option goes in, it will only last for the weekend. This is where you could expect to find options such as Fiesta, Shotty Snipers, and whatever other new options the Halo 5: Guardians sandbox provides.
If you're looking for Big Team Battle, that mode will be added in later along with maps that suit it, as 343 wished to focus on Warzone for the launch. Also missing in the launch is the game's Forge mode, which will be patched into the game in December.
Quick Take
As a longtime Halo player, I'm a bit concerned that staples like Oddball and King of the Hill aren't represented here, and surprised that Halo 4's additions like Regicide or Flood aren't either. I assume that they're keeping it simple for launch day, and Warzone alone will soak up a lot of my time, but I still hope that it doesn't take as long as it did for Halo 4 to get some variety in those Halo 5: Guardians playlists.
