The upcoming My Time at Sandrock November update is arriving later this week on Thanksgiving, which should come as a relief to fans who've been anxiously awaiting its release. Why anxiously? Well, ten days ago, the game's development was slowed due to COVID rearing its ugly head in the dev team's home of Chongqing, China.
What this means that as of November 11th, the team has had to work from home, so the update coming this Thursday was originally supposed to be bigger. Instead, the update is compiled of what was completed at the time, with polishing taking up the intervening two weeks between the shutdown and the update's release.
This isn't the first time that COVID has impacted My Time at Sandrock either. Back in August, the Logan Strikes Back update was delayed due to the virus, which is unfortunate, but the update was eventually released a couple days later so it wasn't nearly as long of a wait.
As for what you can expect from the upcoming My Time at Sandrock November update, an old pal from My Time at Portia (the first game in the series) is coming to visit, which means that Musa, the richest man in the Free Cities, will make an appearance. You can also expect to further explore and transform Sandrock and discover a new place named Valley of the Whisper. Judging by the trailer, it also looks like you'll have to clean up some biohazardous materials, which is definitely an interesting addition to the game.
Last but not least, to celebrate the release of the Hey Old Pals update, the My Time at Sandrock team is giving out ten $10 Steam gift cards. If you're interested in some free Steam moolah, be sure to retweet this tweet and comment to enter.
