Ishtar Games has announced that The Last Spell is leaving Early Access and releasing in full next month. The tactical roguelite RPG is finally hitting version 1.0 on March 9th, and you'll be able to pick it up on PC, PlayStation consoles, and Nintendo Switch, so get your thinking cap on.

The Last Spell was originally announced at 2020's Escapist Indie Showcase, subsequently being released into Early Access in June 2021. Since then, updates have added new maps, bosses, and more to the game, and now, Ishtar Games and publisher The Arcade Crew are finally gearing up for a full release. You can check out the release date trailer for The Last Spell right here.

The 1.0 release is the reason that Ishtar Games has been quiet in the last few weeks. The studio says it's been making sure all of the content for 1.0 is ready to go, including maps, bosses, balances, and new monsters that are set to arrive with the launch. Of course, the ending of the story will also arrive with the 1.0 release, and Ishtar says it "will be painful". Ouch. Happily, you'll also be able to unlock Achievements with the 1.0 release.

If you've missed out on The Last Spell so far, here's a quick reminder. It's an isometric tactical RPG in which your goal is to defend your city against hordes of enemies. When day breaks, you must prepare your Heroes, choose how you're going to rebuild your base, and set up defenses. As night falls, monsters will attack, and you'll have to hope your defenses hold against them. This being an RPG, there are also plenty of stats and skills to tweak for optimum efficiency.

The Last Spell arrives on March 9th on PC via Steam, as well as PlayStation consoles and Nintendo Switch. The game is currently available in Early Access on Steam if you'd like to try it out ahead of the launch. It'll cost you $24.99.
