While the announcement that Byleth would be the last character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's first fighter pass dominated the day, another piece of news will be exciting for Fire Emblem: Three Houses fans. Launching this February is the highly anticipated last piece of DLC for Fire Emblem: Three Houses is coming. Called Cindered Shadows, players can expect the most content yet from the Expansion Pass.

Underneath Garreg Mach monastery is the Abyss, with four new students waiting to be recruited. These students are part of the fourth house called the Ashen Wolves. As seen in the trailer, the new students are Contance, Balthus, Yuri, and Hapi. Along with these students are new, powerful weapons. Balthus, for instance, has relic fist weapons called the Vajra-Mushti.

Although details are slightly confusing right now, this DLC is not a new main story path; rather, this seems that it is a "side story" can be done during the main route at some point. Curiously some of the footage from the trailer shows all the house leaders together in conversation with the new students along with some old ones like Ashe and Hilda, so its place in the main story is still up in the air.

The trailer's description says:

Progress through the story to bring your four new subterranean students to the main story as recruitable units and enjoy the new classes, quests, paralogues, and activities that are also added with this DLC.

As this description indicates, we'll also see new classes and quests

When Does Fire Emblem: Three Houses' Final DLC Release?

You won't have to wait long to play the final DLC for Fire Emblem: Three Houses. As the fourth and final wave of the Expansion Pass, Cindered Shadows launches on February 12th, 2020. Finally, players can finally enjoy all that Fire Emblem: Three Houses has to offer.

Quick Take

I've been holding off from doing my third playthrough of Three Houses simply because I knew one last big DLC was on the way, as indicated by previous leaks. I'm very happy I held myself back despite having an incredible urge to play more Three Houses. I'm extremely excited to play with these new students and experience more of the lore. It's truly a great time to be a Fire Emblem fan.
