Fans of the Langrisser series may have been wanting more after a mobile title in the series launched late last year. Although it was simply called Langrisser, it wasn't a flashy enhancement or port of the original game. Fear not, for Langrisser 1 & 2 was announced, which are shiny remakes of the first two games in the established strategy RPG series.
Today, NIS American announced that Langrisser 1 & 2 arrives on PlayStation 4, the Nintendo Switch, and Steam next year. With this launch comes enhanced, completely remade art and visuals. Levels have graphics comparable to the mobile title, and character art is also completely redone. A new Japanese dub accompanies these two titles, but there's no word yet on an English voice-over.

Langrisser 1 & 2 also comes with a sizable limited edition for both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. This package includes a collector's box containing a physical copy of the game. It also has two separate soundtracks with multiple CDs each, an art book, and art cards. You can pre-order either the Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 4 version right now.
The classic series comprises several long-running tactical strategy and role-playing games that has been around since the launch of its first title in 1991. Since then, there have been several mainline entries up until 1998. Players command an army of troops on large maps, with combat similar to that of Fire Emblem.
Langrisser 1 & 2 launches sometime next year on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam.
