A still from the Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown announcement trailer.

One of the racing games revealed at the Nacon Connect today is KT Racing's Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. The first entry into the series in nearly a decade is going to add a modern take on their racing game formula.

The game's announcement trailer offers little in the way on concrete details. Some closeups of cars, a sleeve button with a logo on it, a high-heeled foot stepping out of a car. The main details came from Alain Jarniou, the Creative Director at KT Racing. After airing the trailer, he told viewers that the game's name comes from the championship players had to win in their previous game back in 2011. "We wanted to reuse this name and the championship's concept, which is not a closed championship where the player is restricted to doing certain things." They're hoping to keep the DNA of the original games while evolving the gameplay and its modes to be more modern.

Jarniou, having worked on both of the original Test Drive Unlimited games, says he knows the series well and the team wanted to bring it back because "there's no real equivalent at the moment." One of the big things Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown will benefit from is their expertise in real-life motor racing, which they're using to develop a physics engine to create realistic driving conditions in a variety of environments. Other features Jarniou mentioned includes a 1:1 island for players to explore, a wide variety of cars to drive, and plenty of clothing and accessories for players to wear

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown does not have a release date or platform yet.
