Koei Tecmo's first-quarter report for this financial year - which covers April, May, and June 2020 - has been released. The report confirms that Dynasty Warriors-style action game Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers will be coming to the West. It doesn't give a release date, but confirms the game will hit Western shores at some point.

What does the report say about Persona 5 Scramble?

As part of Koei Tecmo's first-quarter report, the company includes a slide which details games being released in the future. The report is entirely in Japanese, but according to Persona fan website PersonaCentral, the aforementioned slide includes a listing for Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers. The listing states that the game will launch in "the West" for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. It's safe to start getting excited if you're a fan of hack-and-slash games and Persona 5. This is the first time it's been explicitly stated that Persona 5 Scramble will be coming to the West.

According to PersonaCentral, previous reports that Persona 5 Scramble would be localized for Western territories could simply have referred to "overseas releases", meaning Chinese and Korean releases. However, this report explicitly names "the West" as the region in which Persona 5 Scramble will be released. We perhaps shouldn't be surprised at this information; Persona 5 has proven pretty popular in the West, so a spinoff game launching here isn't a big shock. Still, it's good news if you're hankering for more time spent with Joker and his crew.

We still don't have a concrete release date for Persona 5 Scramble, but if you really can't wait, you can check out the Japanese demo right now if you have a Japanese Nintendo eShop account. Setting one up is as easy as creating a new account and setting your region to Japan, but be aware that the demo will be entirely in Japanese. Still, it gives an idea as to what this Persona 5-Dynasty Warriors mashup will play like.
