Kingdom Hearts χ has had a long journey from its beginnings as a Japanese browser game simply titled Kingdom Hearts χ, to a worldwide mobile game for iOS and Android called Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ and it seems the game is going through its third evolution as Kingdom Hearts Union χ [Cross] has just been announced. While this relaunch will carry over the majority of the features that are currently in the game it will also be adding in a new Union Cross multiplayer mode.

Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ tells the story of all of the Keyblade wielders leading up to the great Keyblade Wars occurring many years before the events of the first Kingdom Hearts title. Union χ [Cross] is a relaunch of the game allowing for current players to continue their progression while gaining accesses to the new features. In Union Cross mode you will be able to create a team of six different players from their party, or through matchmaking to take on a variety of different enemies including bosses from the series. A new emote and text bubble feature will also be added allowing for increased communication and cooperation during these battles. Players will also be able to access a Theater Mode so that they can rewatch the cutscenes that have played throughout the main campaign. Lastly, there will be additional character customization options being added going forward.

If you're interested in getting your hands on the new update then you can preregister via the official website, if you pre-register you will also get exclusive access to a variety of smartphone wallpapers and in-game rewards. Any player who logs in after the update will also be receiving in-game presents to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the original app's release.

What do you think of another relaunch of Kingdom Hearts Union χ [Cross]? Are you still playing the original app? Are you excited for more gameplay, or more story? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
