Ahead of Tokyo Game Show, Sony showcased a pair of new trailers for Kingdom Hearts III's Big Hero 6 and a previously unannounced "VR experience." Big Hero 6 was first mentioned over three years ago, though there was no gameplay footage to show off at the time. We also get some more footage of TangledToy Story, and Monsters Inc, as well as some more gummi ship action. Kingdom Hearts III will be playable on the show floor of Tokyo Game Show, and Square Enix has an extended look planned for September 22nd. All this comes just four months before Kingdom Hearts III's release dates early next year. We'll be able to explore Big Hero 6 and the myriad of other new worlds on display on PS4 and Xbox One on January 25th for Japan, and the 29th for the rest of the world.

Square Enix also released more information about the upcoming "VR experience," which is a joint project with Sony Interactive Entertainment. Set to come to PS VR sometime this year, it will be a free, 10-minute experience that will "feature music from the Kingdom Hearts franchise." By playing through the experience, players will also be able to unlock new content for Kingdom Hearts III as well, although Square Enix did not say what this content might entail.

As the launch of Kingdom Hearts III approaches, Square Enix is attempting to drive a media blitz to garner attention. You may recall that two separate trailers made their debut at E3 this year: one trailer during Microsoft's press conference heralded the arrival of Frozen into the Kingdom Hearts mythos; yet another trailer showed off Pirates of the Caribbeanlooking vastly different from its incarnation in Kingdom Hearts II. As if that weren't enough, there was no release date provided during the show, as Square Enix preferred to leave that to another reveal that marked the start of the orchestra's world tour. We're bound to see more footage coming out of TGS next week, and in the months to follow before Kingdom Hearts III's final release early next year.
